Disclaimer: The original English text of this document is property of the Tolkien Estate. This translation has been done for mere cultural reasons, without any profitable purpose.
The first complete translation of the Valaquenta into Neo-Quenya was made by the users of the Elendili Forum, and uploaded by Galadhorn to the Elvish Linguistic Fellowship web in 2004. Lorenzo Carrera compiled and analyzed the text, but he realized that it was quite outdated and that the previous translators had taken numerous licenses (which are acceptable, of course). Thus, this fellow made a new translation following as closely as possible the English text of the Valaquenta edited by Christopher Tolkien for his 1977 book The Silmarillion.
The main neologisms are taken from Eldamo's list, but they are explained and credited in a note the first time they appear; those created by the Elendili Forum or Lorenzo do not include credit. Direct Qenya borrowings are counted as neologisms. Neologisms are always in italics. The Neo-Quenya grammar is mainly based on Master Fauskanger's.
The Tengwar transcription was made with help of Kris Kowal's transcriptor. The used font is "Tengwar Annatar" by Johan Winge. Here the tengwa £ is chosen to represent a final -s due its clear similarity with a silmë, despite Tolkien apparently never gave it a definitive use in the Classic Mode of Quenya. Sindarin words are rendered in green in the Mode of Beleriand.
