Tar-Telperien asked there are no images of Mordor on this wiki!? But of course there are! See for example in the Category:Images of Mordor to view some of them! ~ Earendilyon 05:28, 24 September 2007 (EDT)

Well there are no images in the article, and I tried and failed to search for "Images of Mordor" using the search function and it turned up absolutely no results. But then, I've always hated this wiki's search function. But thanks for finding them anyway. —Tar-Telperien 07:16, 24 September 2007 (EDT)
Do you remember what you searched for? I tried "Images of Mordor" and ""Images of Mordor"" (with qutotations) and the first two results were Category:Images of Mordor and Category:Images of the Gates of Mordor Update: I also tried lowercase but it returned the same results, until I tried "category:images of mordor" which did not return the results, so maybe that's what you tried. I'll figure out why it's not displaying that and if we can fix it. In the latest version of MediaWiki there is a tree-like hierarchy for all the categories, that should help a little with finding them too. --Hyarion 10:47, 24 September 2007 (EDT)

Etymology[edit source]

The etymology section hosts very irrelevant data; the twofold meaning is never referred to anywhere in the narrative, and the "compare the elements"-game should rather be at the words' selective pages. Green light to remove section and simply put a (S. "Black Land") or the Westron name, "The Black Land" in its stead? -- Ederchil 16:34, 6 February 2008 (EST)

I've removed the unnecessary mention of other terms with the same root, however I think the section is worth keeping and expanding on. I'll try and work on it later today. --Hyarion 17:02, 6 February 2008 (EST)

The Dwarven name for Mordor[edit source]

User Dwarf Lord added the Khuzdul name for Mordor to the article and User 78.70.27.129 took it out, saying that a reference was needed. Earlier Dwarf Lord created a new article for the word, which is Nargûn, and I added the missing reference (see Nargûn). It comes from The Return of the Shadow. Is it OK to include this information with the reference or is it not canonical enough for inclusion? --Gamling 06:17, 28 September, 2011 (UTC)

Sure. I believe we have a consensus that HoMe stuff can be included as "canonical" information, except if it's a questionable/controversial statement or if it's from an early version of the legendarium.--Morgan 09:59, 28 September 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
