There might be reason to merge this article with Avarin (not sure if there is enough information on Lemberin proper to warrant its own article, unlike Noldorin, Qenya, and some other early languages).--Morgan 23:20, 4 March 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I would support this, and would accordingly change the opening line of Avarin to something like "Avarin, originally known as Lemberin, is a term used to refer to the combined languages of the Avari." --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 13:41, 9 March 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Redirect proposal[edit source]

I believe that this page should be redirected to Avarin since this an early version of it and only one sentence appears on this page.Dour1234 (talk) 02:35, 31 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I am no expert in the historical development of J.R.R. Tolkien's languages and I do not have access to Parma Eldalamberon XIX, which seems to be the only source for the information on the Lemberin page. I recommend that somebody who is knowledgeable in this topic and who has access to Parma Eldalamberon XIX and who can verify if Lemberin is indeed just an earlier name for Avarin from an earlier version of Tolkien's writings or for one of the Avarin languages decides if and which information from the Lemberin page should be included in the Avarin page and decides if the Lemberin page should be changed into a redirect page that redirects to the Avarin page. I abstain from proposing a decision due to a lack of knowledge, which would be necessary to make such a decision. --Akhorahil (talk) 08:58, 31 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Agree with Akhorahil. We usually expand languages separating their phases of composition and it's up to see how much info is refered to this. --LorenzoCB (talk) 09:12, 31 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
From PE19/5: “The languages included in them are Quenya, Lindarin, Telerin, Old Noldorin, Noldorin, Ilkorin, Danian, East Danian, Taliskan, and West, North and East Lemberin. ... In the first chart of CT the headings that referred to West, North and East Lemberin were changed to refer to West, North and East Avarin. Similarly in the note on language types the first two occurrences of the name ‘Lemberin’ in the original composition were replaced by ‘Avarin,’ and the same change was made at the only original occurrence of this name in the notes on general characteristics.” On the conceptual stages of the word Lembi/Lemberin: Q Lembi --Jteuber (talk) 09:38, 31 August 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Redirect[edit source]

Should Lemberin possibly be redirected to Avarin now that everything on this page and more is one the other page?Dour1234 (talk) 00:40, 21 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]
