Qenyaqetsa
The Qenyaqetsa is a phonology and lexicon of Qenya written by J.R.R. Tolkien.
The manuscript was a notebook, and Tolkien included the number '23' in the first page, suggesting it was begun between 1915 and 1916, when he had that age.[1] In a letter to Edith Bratt dated 2 March 1916 he mentioned working on a "nonsense fairy language" during his military training[2] suggesting that he had this notebook with him in Rugeley Camp in Staffordshire.[note 1]
Many revisions were made until 1919 or 1920.[3] Both the description of the phonology and the lexicon were the foundation of the Qenya language, which decades later would appear as "Quenya" in his published works.
His son Christopher published some fragments in the Appendices of The Book of Lost Tales Part One and Part Two, referring to it as Qenya Lexicon.[1] The full text was published in Parma Eldalamberon 12 (1998).
