Summary[edit | edit source]

Reconstructed location of Beleriand at the appropriate scale and position. It illustrates how the "collage" of several maps by J.R.R. Tolkien and Christopher Tolkien may be achieved, basically by scaling and superposing:

  • The second map of Beleriand (with scale grid) from The War of the Jewels
  • The draft map of the lands of east of the Ered Luin (with scale grid) from The Treason of Isengard
  • The map from Unfinished Tales (initially by Christopher Tolkien, later replaced by Stephen Raw's redesigned map; without explicit grid but with scale indication and showing Tol Himling)

Slight grid misalignments are on purpose, to show the reconstruction method.
