Evgenia Hatzithanasi-Kollia
From Tolkien Gateway
Evgenia Hatzithanasi-Kollia (Greek: Ευγενία Χατζηθανάση-Κόλλια) is the Greek translator of most Tolkien's works.
Her work with Tolkien started when she found by chance an abandoned English copy of The Lord of the Rings, forgotten by a tourist. As she liked the book, she proposed to Kedros publishing house to make a translation and publish it in Greek. Thus the Lord of the Rings was the first fantasy book to be published in Greek.
