Dwarf-masks were great gilded helmets made in the First Age by the Dwarves of the Blue Mountains.
History[edit | edit source]
The Dwarves of Belegost appeared within the Battle of Unnumbered Tears wearing masks they were resistant to fire, as according to their custom.[1] The Elves of Nargothrond were in possession of dwarf-masks, as well as dwarf-mail; Túrin Mormegil found an all-gilded mask within the armories of Nargothrond, which he wore before going to battle.[2] At the Battle of Tumhalad the dwarf-mask protected him from Glaurung.[3]
