Category talk:Maps

From Tolkien Gateway

I'm a big fan of the maps drawn by Pete Fenlon for ICE's MERP system and used to have most of them myself.

Apparently someone has painstakingly joined all the available maps into one huge compilation [1] although you will have to register with the site to access them and there seems to be a problem accessing it at the moment. --Narvi 04:53, 16 September 2007 (EDT)

Thanks Narvi, I was at first staying away from MERP-related maps but I think as long as we say that the maps aren't canon, it will be okay. The owner of the site is a regular on our IRC network so I'll talk to him about it, thanks. --Hyarion 12:25, 16 September 2007 (EDT)

Structure[edit source]

This category is a bit messy and it can be difficult to find what you're looking for. Would it be useful to separate between "Category:Images of maps" and "Category:Maps" (where the latter would only include articles)? --Morgan 00:59, 8 July 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

My map of Beleriand[edit source]

Hello Admins, I've made a map of Beleriand, based on on maps by J.R.R. Tolkien in HoME XII, Christopher Tolkien in The Silmarillion & Karen Wynn Fonstad in The Atlas of Middle-earth, so it should be canon, though there is always some guessing involved. Should I add it somewhere here and if so - to which category? Here is the map: Beleriand and Realms of The North It's cooperation with Ominous - two elements were done by other person, published on-line with his permission. I saw your map at Facebook -- beautiful work! It's great that you want to share it here at TG. Perhaps Category:Maps of Beleriand would be most suitable.--Morgan 22:13, 20 November 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Done. Thank you! Sirielle 22:06, 23 November 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
