Blotmath (pronounced Blodmath or Blommath) was the eleventh month of the Shire Calendar, approximately corresponding to modern 22 October through 20 November. It was called Blooting in Bree.
The name represents a modernisation of the Old English name for November, Blotmonað , meaning "blood-month".
