Tol Brandir

From Tolkien Gateway
". . . it is said that no foot of man or beast has ever been set upon Tol Brandir."
Aragorn, The Great River, The Lord of the Rings
"Frodo halted and looked out over the River, far below him, to Tol Brandir and the birds wheeling in the great gulf of air between him and the untrodden isle. The voice of Rauros was a mighty roaring mingled with a deep throbbing boom."
The Breaking of the Fellowship, The Lord of the Rings

Tol Brandir was an unclimable island with a huge pinnacle on the long lake called Nen Hithoel, which was situated on the Anduin river before the Emyn Muil. It stood between the hills of Amon Hen and Amon Lhaw and looks over the Falls of Rauros. Their sides glow sometime around mid-afternoon.
