Third Age 2799 (abbreviated to T.A. 2799) is the 2799th year of the Sun of the Third Age of Middle-earth. Third Age 2799 was also known as S.R. 1199 in Shire-reckoning.
Notable events in this year include:
- War of the Dwarves and Orcs: Battle of Nanduhirion before the East-gate of Moria.[1] The War ends.[2]
- Deaths of Azog, Frerin, Fundin and Náin.[2]
- Dáin Ironfoot returns to the Iron Hills.[1]
- Thráin II and his son Thorin with Balin and Glóin leave for Dunland and wander westwards.[1][2]
- The unnamed sixteenth Prince of Dol Amroth is slain in battle.[3]
- The sixteenth Prince's unnamed son becomes the seventeenth Prince of Dol Amroth.[3]
