Third Age 2340 (abbreviated to T.A. 2340) is the 2340th year of the Sun of the Third Age of Middle-earth. Third Age 2340 was also known as S.R. 740 in Shire-reckoning.
Notable events in this year include:
- Gorhendad Oldbuck abdicates Thainship and crosses the Brandywine river.[1] The Oldbucks occupy the Buckland.[2]
- Isumbras I becomes thirteenth Thain, and first of the Took line.[2]
