Regarding the list of Valar, demonstrating their fraternal relationships, aren't Manwe and Melkor brothers? "Manwe and Melkor were brethren in the thought of Iluvatar." (The Silmarillion: Valaquenta). The Silmarillion uses almost exactly the same language to describe the relationship between Namo/Mandos and Irmo/Lorien, "The Feanturi, masters of spirits, are brethren, and they are called most often Mandos and Lorien." (The Silmarillion: Valaquenta). It seems to me, therefore, that there should be a link between Manwe and Melkor, similar to those connecting Mandos, Nienna, and Lorien; Orome and Nessa; Yavanna and Vana, representing a fraternal kinship. In that case, I hope someone will make the appropriate change to the article? I have no experience altering graphs or charts or the like, and when I tried to do so... I can't imagine what might happen if I just started messing with that family tree. Corsair Caruso 03:21, 1 October 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
