Hmm. Is this a Quenya word, or a Sindarin one? I think it is the former, but I cannot be sure. --Narfil Palùrfalas 07:42, 26 September 2006 (EDT)

It's Quenyan. Means "High-White-Peak". In Sindarin it is called Amon Uilos.--Quidon88 15:25, 12 January 2007 (EST)

Then from what is it derived? Or is it just "a word"? --Narfil Palùrfalas 15:38, 12 January 2007 (EST)
"High White Peak": tar meaning "high", ninquë meaning "white", and til meaning "point, peak". — Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 18:13, 12 January 2007 (EST)

Isn't it a Valarin name distorted by the Noldor ? Unsigned comment by 79.184.185.202 (talk).

There is some similarity: DAhaNIGWIsTELgun would be distorted to DANIGWITEL and Taniquetil. Sage 11:17, 7 October 2012 (UTC)Reply[reply]
