I'd like to discus the 1st reference: "Hithlum was separated from Beleriand proper by the Ered Wethrin mountain chain, and was named after the sea mists which formed there at times." I've just found in HoME vol. V that it was named after the mists that Morgoth send from Angband and this is also what is written in the edition I have of The Silmarillion. Can someone explain the current reference? Because if not I will chance it. ~denDAY 17:36, 22 July 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I have to say I agree with you.

To the west of Thangorodrim lay Hísilóme, the Land of Mist, for so it was named by the Noldor in their own tongue because of the clouds that Morgoth sent thither during their first encampment; Hithlum it became in the tongue of the Sindar that dwelt in those regions

I cannot source the statement in this article. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 15:08, 27 July 2013 (UTC)Reply[reply]
