There's no evidence of seeing Araman from Nevrast in the Silmarillion. This information should be removed, shoundn't it ?

No. The sentence does not mean "Seen" in the literal sende, but from The point of view of someone on the eastern side of the Belegaer. --Akhorahil 21:20, 14 November 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
In any case it is very possible that it was visible. There is no point for a Sindarin speaker in Middle-earth care to name a location in Aman, if they hadn't any view of it from afar. Sage 21:31, 14 November 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
It is quite frequent in the real world, that names for places in one language are translated into another language even if the speakers of the other language have never been to the place and have not seen the place. When a part of the Noldor returned from Aman to Beleriand they adopted Sindarin and used Sindarin as their daily language. It makes sense that Noldor from Aman who have seen the Far Shore in Aman translate it into Sindarin if they use Sindarin in Beleriand. It would also make sense that Sindar in Beleriand would translate the name into Sindarin. Before the flight of the Noldor and the ban of the Valar, it is possible that Teleri from Aman sailed back to Middle-earth and told their Sindar kin how they called the shore in Aman. I am no expert in the imaginary physics of lines of sight in a flat earth. --Akhorahil 16:30, 15 November 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

That's quiet true ! thanks.
