The statement that already the Black Númenóreans took to pillaging and piracy along the coasts of Gondor before the sons of Castamir and their followers fled there is speculative. There is no basis in the works of J.R.R. Tolkien that the Black Númenóreans were engaged in pillaging using ships or in piracy against Gondorian ships. This speculative sentence should be deleted. --Akhorahil 16:39, 5 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The sentence "Eventually, Umbar was taken by the Haradrim and mixed with the Corsairs." is not proper english. The Statement that the Númenórean blood was mostly gone in that mixed people is speculative. There is no statement in the Lord of the Rings or in Unfinished Tales that the Corsairs mixed with the Haradrim and that the Númenórean blood was mostly gone. The statements in The Peoples of Middle-earth were in draft versions that were changed and not published. The fact that the statements about the Kin-strife were expanded in the second edition of The Lord of the Rings when compared to the first edition of The Lord of the Rings strongly suggests that J.R.R. Tolkien did not need to save space and that the changes in the drafts were deliberate. --Akhorahil 16:50, 5 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

The entry Corsairs of Umbar should be merged with the entry Umbar, because it basically concerns the history of Umbar and it would otherwise overlap with the history of Umbar. --Akhorahil 16:51, 5 October 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]
