THUS is a Primitive Quendian root signifying "evil mist, fog, Darkness".[1]

In the Etymologies, the root THUS (given no signification) yields the Primitive Quendian form thausā, from which derives Quenya (Qenya) saura. From this root also derives Noldorin thaw "corrupt, rotten", and thû "stench" (used as a proper name, Thû.[2]
