Solosimpi ("Pipers of the Shores") were an Elven race in the early version of the legendarium in The Book of Lost Tales. They are the predecessors of the Falmari in later versions, while the name Teleri was given to the clan of Elves known as the Vanyar.

History

Their leader was Tinwelint but after he was lost, they chose Ellu Melemno.[1]

The Solosimpi dwelt in Kopas Alqaluntë but many were slaughtered by the Gnomes under Fëanor.[2]

Their preferred weapon was the bow and arrow, in contrast to the spears of the Teleri and the swords of the Gnomes.[3]
