Snowmane, also referred to as Theoden's Bane and Master's Bane, was the steed of Théoden, King of Rohan, on which he rode to the Battle of the Pelennor Fields, and beneath which he fell in that battle. Snowmane's sire was Lightfoot.
Snowmane was buried where he fell and ever after the grass grew the most green. He was probably one of the Mearas.
Etymology
The name is Anglicized since in Old English (which represents Rohirric) would had been snāw-mana[1]
