nwalmë

nwalme (earlier pronounced ngwalme or ŋwalme[note 1]) is a Quenya noun meaning "torment".[1]
Nwalme is also the name in Quenya of the twentieth letter of the Tengwar alphabet.[1] It is the fourth letter of the fifth grade or Tyellë, which contains "nasal" consonants and it is the fifth letter in the fourth series of consonants. For written Quenya or Sindarin, the fourth series is used for labialized or kw-series, the Quessetéma, and Nwalme represents NGW or ŊW. In Westron the fourth series is used for the k-series, the Calmatéma, and this letter represents NG or Ŋ.[2] The Westron name for this letter is Ngá.[3]

The word derives from the Primitive Quendian root ÑGWAL.[4]
