Jules Bass

Jules Bass (September 16, 1935 - October 25 2022[1]) was an American director, producer and composer. Along with fellow director Arthur Rankin Jr., they founded the Rankin/Bass production company. He and Rankin were the directors and producers of the animated adaptation of The Hobbit in 1977 and The Return of the King in 1980.
