Ilwen was the wife of Ingwë, King of the Vanyar.
History
Ilwen was born at Cuiviénen, likely to the more junior generations of the Minyar. She wed Ingwë, who was a direct male-line descendant of Imin, from eldest son to eldest son. The couple were wed and had several children at Cuiviénen by the time Oromë found the Quendi and invited them to Aman.[1]
Ilwen came to Valinor and became Queen of the Vanyar at Valimar. There she and Ingwë begat many children in the bliss of Aman, as noted by Finwë when he complained to the Valar about his widowhood following the death of Míriel.[2]
