Gorgol the Butcher was an Orc of the First Age who is only mentioned once in The Lay of Leithian.

History

During the recounting of Beren's deeds of valor as an outlaw in Dorthonion, Gorgol the Butcher was hewn by Beren.[1]

Etymology

According to Paul Strack, the name Gorgol is in Black Speech, being glossed as "Butcher".[2]
