Everard Took was a Hobbit of the Shire.

History

Everard was the youngest son of Adelard Took.[1] At Bilbo's Farewell Party in S.R. 1401, he danced the Springle-ring with Melilot Brandybuck when he thought the Speech was over.[2]

Etymology

The meaning is "boar-strong" (ever + hard).[3]

Other versions of the legendarium

Everard's name was originally 'Prospero' until Tolkien's sixth draft version of A Long-expected Party.[4]
