Emerië composed a part of the Mittalmar region in central Númenor and was the location of the White House of Erendis,[1] queen to Tar-Aldarion. It was a land of green grass and rolling hills; the Númenóreans herded many sheep there.[2] Erendis' daughter, Ancalimë, was herself a shepherdess in Emerië in her youth, for which she received the Quenya name Emerwen Aranel.[3]
