Elenwë (Q, pron. [eˈlenwe]) was the wife of Turgon and mother of Idril Celebrindal. She was lost in the crossing of the Helcaraxë as the Noldor returned to Middle-earth. She was one of the Vanyar, and her golden hair passed to her daughter.
Elenwë is the only full Vanya who accompanied the Flight of the Noldor and came under the Doom of Mandos. But because of her death she did not reach Middle-earth, so no known full Vanya is specifically known to have stepped foot on Middle-earth alive since living it after the Great Journey.
