Egnor was a figure that never became prominent in Tolkien's legendarium. He appeared once as the Gnomish father of Beren Erchamion in the Tale of Tinúviel. In the Lay of Leithian he was one of the sons of Finarfin (at that point called Finrod) falling during the Siege of Angband. It is possible that Egnor is who developed into Aegnor son of Finarfin.
