Chithing was the fourth month of the year according to the calendars of Bree and the Eastfarthing, approximately equivalent to modern April. It corresponds to Astron in the Shire Calendar.[1]

Etymology[edit | edit source]

Chithing represents ciðing "germinating".[2]
