Borlad was one of the sons of Bór, and apparently the eldest, who entered Beleriand late in the First Age. He fought in the Nirnaeth Arnoediad, and was faithful to the Noldor, taking a part in the slaying of Ulfang's sons before he was himself slain.

Etymology

The Languages of Tolkien's Middle-earth by Ruth S. Noel states Borlad translates to "Plain of the Hand" in Sindarin.
