Barahir (Third Age 2290[1] – 2412,[2] aged 122 years) was eighth Ruling Steward of Gondor.

He was named after the hero Barahir of the First Age, who was the father of Beren. The Watchful Peace continued during his rule.[3]

Barahir ruled as Steward for seventeen years, and was succeeded by his son Dior.[2]

Etymology

Barahir is a Sindarin word and consists of bara ("fiery; eager") + hîr ("master, lord").[4]
