Auredhir was the son of Dior and the brother of Elwing according to the early version of the legendarium in The Book of Lost Tales. It is said that his looks were akin to his grandfather Beren and for that reason he was loved by all. He was slain by the sons of Fëanor in their attempt to reclaim the Nauglafring.[1]
Auredhir disappeared completely in later versions of the legendarium,[2] replaced by the characters of Eluréd and Elurín.
