Astron, was the fourth month of the year according to the Shire Calendar, approximately corresponding to modern 23 March through 21 April. This month was called Chithing in Bree and the Eastfarthing.[1]
Etymology[edit | edit source]
The name represents a modernization of the Old English name for the Easter, ēastre.[2] The actual name for April was ēastermōnaþ.
