andúnë

andúnë is the poetic word for "sunset", "west",[1] or "evening" in Quenya. The more common word for "west" is númen. The capitalized form Andúnië is applied to the Uttermost West in the Namárië.[2]

Etymology

Andúnë derives from the root NDŪ ("sink, go down").[1]
