Alan Bliss, a student of J.R.R. Tolkien from 1946-48, edited the book Finn and Hengest. It was J.R.R. Tolkien's own wish that the preparation for publication of this work should be undertaken by Alan Bliss. Alan Bliss has himself died since Finn and Hengest's hardback publication in 1982.
