Alalminórë was a region in the centre of the island of Tol Eressëa, being its fairest realm. The city of Kortirion was situated in there.[1]

Etymology

In Qenya, Alalminórë is glossed as "Land of Elms",[2] which the Gnomes also call Gar Lossion, or the "Place of Flowers".[1]

Tolkien adapted the name to later Quenya as Alalvinórë ("Land of Many Elms"),[3] but this name was never used in narrative, so it is unknown which use it would have in the mature version of the legendarium.

Inspiration

Christopher Tolkien identifies the Land of Elms as Warwickshire.[4]
