Categories[edit source]

Hi, I think only a few of the categories you are adding are fine. You should check this before continue: Tolkien_Gateway:Manual_of_Style#Categories. --LorenzoCB 12:13, 14 December 2019 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Sauron article[edit source]

Hi. Please, leave alone the Sauron article. You making many errors: You are using a quote that belongs to the Thû article, not Sauron. You can't change the main image just because: Help:Images#Rules. There is no need to explain the origins of Mairon in the introduction when they are going to be repeated in its section: Tolkien_Gateway:Manual_of_Style#Introduction.--LorenzoCB 12:40, 31 May 2020 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Morgoth's Ring[edit source]

It seems that you had problems with the reference. I corrected what you wrote to <ref>{{MR|P2}}</ref>, but probably you should give more precise chapter and page.

In general the code {{work|chapter}}, p. xx) is used (this shortcuts for works, chapters as described on pages for individual templates and pages by hand).

"The History of Middle-earth series - Include page numbers in citations from editions published by HarperCollins or Houghton Mifflin Harcourt (all of which have the same pagination)" Do you have one of these editions?

<ref name="something"> lets you repeat references:

one<ref name=abc>sourceABC</ref> two<ref>sourceXYZ</ref> three<ref name=qwe>sourceQWE</ref> four<ref name=abc/> five<ref name=qwe/>
<references />

one[1] two[2] three[3] four[1] five[3]

  1. 1.0 1.1 sourceABC
  2. sourceXYZ
  3. 3.0 3.1 sourceQWE

Recent edits[edit source]

A lot of your recent edits had to be reverted due to quality problems. I recommend to you to not to make edits that merely rephrase the existing wording, as such edits are mostly unnecessary. Please read the comments that other users made in the Summary: box when they reverted your edits or changed your edits. It is problematic if statements are not supported by the sources. --Akhorahil (talk) 10:12, 29 October 2022 (UTC)Reply[reply]

Edits to the Uruk-hai page and creation of the King of Kings page[edit source]

Have you read the Help:References about how to make references as precise as possible and about including page numbers for certain sources and the Tolkien Gateway:Manual of Style? I noticed that you used a reference to the chapter The Palantiri in UT in the Uruk-hai page without mentioning that the source for the statement was note 7 of that chapter and that you protrayed something that was written as a mere possibility in that note like a fact. Imprecise references make it more time-consuming for readers to find the source from which you are citing. In addition you used the chapter Of Dwarves and Men from the Peoples of Middle-earth as a reference twice in your edits to the King of Kings page without a page numbers and without even adding the title of the subdivision in that chapter (e.g. Relation of the Longbeard Dwarves and Men, The Atani and their Languages, Notes and number of the note) that support your statements. Do you have access to a printed version of The Peoples of Middle-earth from HarperCollins or Houghton Mifflin Harcourt? --Akhorahil (talk) 11:53, 14 January 2023 (UTC)Reply[reply]
