Incorrect email[edit source]

I just set you an email so as to not fill up your inbox I'll post this here; your email, specifically "zom" instead of "zoom" seems to be invalid and the confirmation email for your account bounced back. No biggie as it doesn't need to be confirmed, just thought I'd let you know. --Hyarion 23:47, 7 June 2006 (EDT)

Amon Hen Contents Layout[edit source]

Hello Andrew, I was just curious what you thought about the layout for the Amon Hen articles. (The bullet for the title and sub-bullet for the author). I am by no means overly attached to it and it was something I just threw together as putting the title, author and sometimes subtitles tended to make the line rather long. Here's another example of a layout, I do rather like the idea of adding the page numbers allowing fans to quickly locate the article in their issue, what do you think? I'm just thinking if we have any gripes about the template we should perfect them now as after 200 issues it will become a bit of a pain to fix ;) --Hyarion 19:16, 15 July 2006 (EDT)

I actually like the existing layout. I can see why you might want to add the page numbers, but think that it will just amount to extra 'clutter' - if someone is consulting a physical copy of the magazine, they can look at the Contents list for the page numbers; if not, they won't really need page numbers just to get a 'flavour' of the contents. Anyway, the contents are listed in order, so it is not that difficult just to flick through until the right place is reached. Once the database/index compilers (Johan, Christopher and Jeff - and anyone else who joins in) get somewhere, people will be able to do meaningful searches (not just title and author, but things like subject or keywords too) and we can add appropriate links for that then.
By the way - I have now heard back from about half the cover artists (they all said "yes", as I thought they would) and am adding pages accordingly. So as to provide smooth navigation, I'm trying to avoid too many solitary issues, so there will be some for which permission to use the artwork has not yet been received, but those pages can have the pictures added later. --GaramondBophîn 05:01, 16 July 2006 (EDT)
That is fantastic news about the permissions, and many thanks for all your contributions. I will be finishing my summer semester at the university next week so I will be able to concentrate more on adding the issues. --Hyarion 12:45, 16 July 2006 (EDT)

Thanks :)[edit source]

I've been meaning to thank you for the mention of Tolkien Gateway in Amon Hen 201! I think that was our first mention in any printed material. Thanks! And let me know if there is anything we can do in return. --Hyarion 21:53, 8 October 2006 (EDT)
