Ursula K. Le Guin

Ursula Kroeber Le Guin (October 21, 1929 - January 24, 2018) was an American author who primarily wrote fantasy and science fiction.
In 1988, she was Guest of Honour at Mythcon 19.
It has been noted that Kingsfoil, the (translated) name of Athelas, appears in Le Guin's A Wizard of Earthsea.[1]
