Talk:The Wanderings of Húrin

I expanded the article on The Wanderings of Húrin because I feel that it's an important story that many readers would not know. There are a number of red links embedded in the text, which leads to the question: When I add the new articles should they be marked non-canon or not?

The existing articles on Manthor and Hardang do not have the non-canon label on them but the one on Angbor (stone) does. This story comes from the History of Middle-earth series but at the end Christopher Tolkien admits that he excluded it because its dense style and detail did not fit his compressed storytelling in The Silmarillion. It's such a great piece that I hesitate to "devalue" it or related new articles with the non-canon label. What do others think?

According to our Tolkien Gateway:Canon, concepts from The Wanderings of Húrin are to be treated as canon. (And, if you feel that any of the related new articles would still be in the borderline, I'd perhaps suggest using the Template:Disputedcanon[former link] instead, in case you don't want devaluation.)--Morgan 08:58, 19 November 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I think this could do with some more. --Mith (Talk/Contribs/Edits) 15:03, 20 November 2011 (UTC)Reply[reply]
