Would we say that the council was called by Elrond?

This page states that the Council was called by Elrond -- but in the chapter "The Council of Elrond" he explicitly says that it was not: "Called, I say, though I have not called you to me..."

I think instead it would be fair to say that the attendees were called by circumstance, or by fate. Cynfrid (talk) 20:55, 11 July 2023 (UTC)

I agree, not sure how this got overlooked. Even our own ''Portrayal in adaptations'' section states, "...This is in contrast to the original text, where fate seems to bring them together." I'll let you do the honors :) Thanks for catching that! Hyarion (talk) 21:19, 11 July 2023 (UTC)
