Talk:Amarië

From Tolkien Gateway

The name is Amarië in The Silmarillion, but always Amárië in The History of Middle-earth XI (Grey Annals and The Later Quenta Silmarillion). C. Tolkien doesn't comment the matter, afaik. Which is better? --Tik 10:19, 12 November 2007 (EST)

  • The Silmarillion is always to be used in place of The History of Middle-earth if there is a conflict as it is considered much more canonical, though we should mention the fact that in earlier writings there was an accent over the a. --Hyarion 12:55, 12 November 2007 (EST)
