Orossi

From Tolkien Gateway

Orossi were the fays of the mountains, according to the early version of the legendarium in The Book of Lost Tales.[1][2]

They arrived to the world with Aulë and Yavanna, along with many other types of fays.[3]

Etymology[edit | edit source]

The name Orossi is in Qenya, probably being derived from the root ORO ("steepness, rising"),[4] according to Christopher Tolkien.[5]
