Húrin I (Third Age 2124[1] – 2244,[2] aged 120 years) was the fifth Ruling Steward of Gondor.
History[edit | edit source]
Húrin was one of the Stewards during the Watchful Peace, when Sauron was in the East and the Nazgûl occupied Minas Morgul.[3]
Húrin ruled as Steward for forty years, and was succeeded by his son, who became Túrin I.[2]
Etymology[edit | edit source]
For the meaning of his name refer to Húrin of Emyn Arnen - Etymology. Húrin I was probably named after Húrin Thalion, one of the heroes of the Edain in the First Age.[4][5]
