Category talk:Middle-earth Calendars

From Tolkien Gateway

Rename[edit source]

I suggest we rename it just into Category:Calendars. We don't need "Middle-earth" as this wiki is about Middle-earth, and we don't distinguish these calendars from real-world calendars (and actually we include the Numenorean calendar).

On a second note, its subcategories should be renamed and restructured, as they are a bit inconsistent and chaotic. Sage 07:13, 26 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]

I agree. The wiki's policy is to be mainly about the Legendarium, so real-world calendars should be in a category called "Calendars (real-world)". --LorenzoCB 12:24, 26 February 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Makes sense to me. If a category on real-world calendars is needed, the suggested name above sounds good as well. Murlo 05:45, 3 March 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
I responded before checking that a Category:Calendars already exists, and it seems to be for physical calendars, either real-world with a Middle-earth theme, or physical copies of Middle-earth calendars (Shire_Calendar_1982 for example). It could also be renamed, to "Calendars (real-world)" or maybe even "Calendars (physical)", perhaps. Murlo 05:57, 3 March 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
Done. I feel that Category:Calendars (real-world) is quite a mess. --LorenzoCB 21:38, 19 December 2021 (UTC)Reply[reply]
