Belegorn (Third Age 2074[1] – 2204,[2] aged 130 years) was the fourth Ruling Steward of Gondor.

History[edit | edit source]

Belegorn ruled during the period known as the Watchful Peace.[3]

Etymology[edit | edit source]

Belegorn is a Sindarin name. Its meaning is not glossed, but Paul Strack suggests it means "Great-tree" and is a compound of beleg ("great", "mighty", "large", "big") and orn ([tall] "tree").[4]
