I don't like the Peter Jackson films much (just too much was changed), am ambivalent about Bakshi's, and haven't seen the Rankin-Bass ones. I'm mildly irritated by self-professed "Lord of the Rings" fans who don't actually read the book (though admittedly it's not for everyone), fangirls (and fanboys) who confuse a character with his or her portrayer ("Orli fans", anyone?), and those who actually think that the EA games and the Weapons and Warfare book are canonical. | |||
