Ursula Kroeber Le Guin (October 21, 1929 - January 24, 2018) is an American author who primarily writes fantasy and science fiction.

In 1988, she was Guest of Honour at Mythcon 19.

It has been noted that Kingsfoil, the (translated) name of Athelas, appears in Le Guin's A Wizard of Earthsea.[1]
