Etymology

Ulfast was probably not his true name, as it seems to be Sindarin for "Ugly Shaggy Hair": ul- ("ugly") and fast ("shaggy hair").[3]

Other versions of the legendarium

In the appendix of The Lost Road it states that Ulfast was born in the year 128.[4]
