I find puzzling to have a Celtic name in that location. Normally Celtic names are found in Buckland and Bree-land to indicate Pre-Numenorean influence. But how does the Celtic name can be explained east of the Misty Mountains? Stoors perhaps? Pre-Numenoreans? Sage 13:15, 25 February 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]

According to Rateliff (p. 262) it's an Old Northumbrian borrowing from Celtic. So I think the Old English connection with Rhovanion - just like "Beorn" - applies hear.-- KingAragorn  talk  contribs  edits  email  14:14, 25 February 2014 (UTC)Reply[reply]
